One of the most important tasks in arranging all of the details of your wedding day is to select a wedding photographer. Not only do you want to find someone with professional experience and equipment who will take great photographs but you need to find someone who is friendly, flexible and can work quickly in a variety of situations. The comfort level between you and your photographer is reflected in your photographs.

To assist you in deciding if you wish to retain our services, here are the answers to a number of frequently asked questions.

1.What kind of experience do you both have?

I have been a professional photographer since 1976. For many years, I worked in the production of audio visual presentations which allowed me to work in both studio and location photography. During the 1990's, I began to photograph weddings and have photographed over 100 weddings in the last 4 years. To keep current with the latest trends and changes in the industry, I belong to Wedding and Portrait Photographers International. I love to photograph weddings and it is one of the most energizing experiences in photography that I have ever had.

My wife and partner, Salinda, graduated from The Philadelphia College of Art with a B.F.A. in drawing and painting. She has a position as a high school art teacher and is currently pursuing her M.F.A. in Fine Art from MICA. She shoots black and white film and works with the bride during the preparation.

2.What kind of photographic equipment do you use?

We shoot with a combination of Nikon digital and film cameras. This variety allows us to use a number of different lenses and styles simultaneously throughout the day. Currently our film images are scanned at the time of processing to produce digital files that will produce prints up to 8x10 in size.

3.Do you have backup equipment?

Yes. We travel with no less than 4cameras, 3 flashs and 4 battery packs with backup cords and cables for everything.

4.Do you have time limits on photographing at a wedding or limits on the amount of shots that you will take?

Most wedding photography is usually completed in 7 hours or less. We plan on working up to 8 hours but will continue to shoot through the reception until all of the events have been covered and we feel we have fully captured the important moments. As for the amount of shots that we take, every wedding is different and we will shoot whatever we need to best capture the moments of the day but there is never a limit.

5. How many pictures will I receive?

We guarentee a minimum of 300+ images with our full day wedding coverage. These are edited from a larger number to give you the best images of the day. However, for most weddings we produce between 350-450+ different photographs which are all yours to keep.

6.What can I expect from you on the wedding day?

We arrive where the bride is getting dressed about an hour before the planned departure for the ceremony. We photograph candidly while waiting and get aquainted with everyone. My wife ,Salinda, or an assistent photographer, will spend some time with the bride and bridesmaids as they get ready and shoot candids. This allows your wedding party to get comfortable having us around and become less self conscious. Once everyone is ready, the formal photographs at this location take 15-20 minutes. We follow you to the ceremony site, introduce ourselves to the officient to ask about any restrictions and set up to shoot the ceremony. I am prepared to shoot with a long lens on a tripod, prefering not to use flash during the ceemony.

After the ceremony and receiving line are finished, it will take approximately 30 minutes for formal bridal, family and wedding party photographs at the site. Each unique pose with a different grouping averages about 2 minutes per pose. Generally we plan on shooting between 12-15 different poses.Afterwards, if we can arrange it in the schedule, I like to shoot at an outdoor location with the bride and groom for a few romantic shots and some additional bridal party shots. From this point on, we shoot candids throughout the reception without staging. During the reception, if anyone has requests for specific group portraits, we are happy to accommodate them. Otherwise, it is time for everyone to celebrate and we will be capturing those moments.

7. How long will it take to receive my pictures?

You recieve the original images online in about 3 weeks after your wedding day and 4x6 prints the following week. After you have made your selections, it takes 10-12 weeks to complete your finished wedding album.

8. What will it cost to have you photograph our wedding?

We offer a variety of packages and options that you can choose for your finished album. The minimum price for full day wedding photography starts at $1695 with your choice of a proof book of 4x6 prints or a Hi-Res CD. Various packages are available but Traditional wedding albums start at $1995 while coffee table books start at $1895. You can go to our wedding portfolio page to find a link to our complete package prices.

9. How do I reserve my wedding date with you?

Please E-mail or telephone us first to make sure that we are available on your wedding date. Once we have determined that we are available, we will set up an appointment to meet with you to discuss your wedding. At this time, you can view our portfolio and sample albums as well as discuss the options that you are interested in. A $250 retainer and a signed contract will be needed to reserve your date.

10. How far will you travel to shoot a wedding?
